Vying for UNESCO world heritage tag

Unakoti, meaning one less than a crore (koti in Bengali), home to 7th-9th century Shaivaite rock carvings is vying for the UNESCO World Heritage tag. Unakoti is often referred to as the Angkor Wat of the North East.
